India Round-up and July Destination

Welcome to our India round-up! We've got lots of great dishes to share so let's begin...




Our first traveler is Mary at One Perfect Bite, welcome to the group! Mary made Gobi Manchurian -- cauliflower fritters, they look delicious -- I bet those would be a great appetizer!

Next up is long time traveler Joanna at In Search of Lost Time who made Beef and Chickpea Curry and has a little secret to getting great Indian flavors stashed in her pantry :)

Our third traveler is Margaret at Tea and Scones, a big thank you to Margaret for suggesting India as our June destination! She made Aloo Palak, a delicious looking potato and spinach curry and also home made paneer cheese balls -- rasgalla, served in ras malai -- a sweet milk with nuts and spices. Wow, what a delicious Indian feast!

Our next traveler is Leslie at Lethally Delicious, I know Leslie from a couple of baking groups and am so glad she decided to join MKMW too! Welcome, Leslie :) She made hara shorva soup and chicken in a red pepper sauce, looks wonderful!

Kayte at Grandma's Kitchen Table is joining us for her second month of MKMW travels! Kayte made a full Indian feast, complete with hara shorva soup, dahi ka shorva -- cold yogurt soup, naan, Lal Masale Wai Murghi -- chicken in a red sweet pepper sauce, and Peelay Chaaval -- aromatic yellow rice...Kayte, are you sure you aren't operating a fine Indian restaurant in your kitchen? :)

Bringing a delicious drink to our Indian feast is long time traveler Christine at Kits Chow. She made Indian Mint Tea -- Pudina Chai, served in gorgeous tea cups and made with mint from her own garden, what a lovely presentation!

Finishing out our round-up, over at Nummy Kitchen I made a spicy Red Lentil Curry and badusha, a Diwali treat.

ETA: Jill at Jill's Blog is another new traveler this month -- she e-mailed me yesterday and I missed it until just a minute ago -- so sorry Jill! She made two delicious looking Indian dishes, Potato and Pea Curry -- Alu Matar, and Spinach and Potatoes -- Palak Alu; along with some yummy looking naan. Welcome to the group :)

Now the moment everyone is waiting for -- our July destination! Drum roll please...




That's right folks, the United States of America! I've been traveling with MKMW for two years and I don't ever think we've "visited" the USA, so in honor of the 4th of July, please pick an American dish and post about it on your blog by July 31st and leave a comment on this post with a link to your MKMW -- USA recipe.

There are so many choices and interpretations of this destination, don't think you have to stick with the traditional American dishes, feel free to pick a recipe from a particular area of the country, off the top of my head I'm coming up with Boston Baked Beans, Mississippi Mud Pie, Southern Fried...anything really, okra, steak, chicken :) you get the idea.

And just a quick note, I don't have any country suggestions yet for August, so feel free to mention one if you have a particular country in mind -- if not we will use the random country generator -- that's always fun!
